Research Coordinator Doctors of the World-USA Health and Human Rights NGO Location city: Bucharest Location country: Romania Closing date: 10 Oct 2006 Job Description: Doctors of the World - USA (DOW), an autonomous member organization of the international network of Doctors of the World/Medecins du Monde, seeks a Research Coordinator to support its United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Child Survival and Health Grants Program (CSHGP) in Romania. The duration of this assignment will be 4 months. The focus of the project is to develop tuberculosis (TB) control capacity, created and deliver TB training and education, and support treatment adherence activities. Major Duties and Responsibilities: The purpose of this position will be to support operations research and evaluation activities for the DOW field office in Bucharest. Responsibilities include coordinating evaluation of training and incentive programs, serving as a liaison to local research vendors implementing a DOW-funded Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices (KAP) survey. The coordinator will formulate research instruments, process and analyze evaluation and activities data and prepare reports. Qualifications: Candidates must possess research and reporting skills, including ability to design quantitative and qualitative survey instruments and create and manage databases. Candidates require good writing and organization skills, and must be fluent in English. Additional requirements: University degree (social science, public health, epidemiology), work experience in health or community research projects, experience with operations research and ability to travel within Romania.
